A source close to the Marada Movement told Al-Liwaa newspaper in an interview published on Wednesday that Tuesday’s meeting between Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Marada Movement leader MP Sleiman Franjieh in Bnachii “turned the page of past disputes.”

The source said that the atmosphere during the Hariri-Franjieh meeting was excellent.

“The two men agreed to preserve peace and avoid having sedition in Lebanon [on matters related to] the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL),” the source added.

This comes as tension has ignited after Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah questioned the credibility of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) earlier in July, calling it an Israeli project designed to create sectarian conflict in the country.

Last Thursday, Nasrallah claimed Hezbollah members would be named in the STL’s pending indictment for the 2005 assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri, which is rumored to be issued before the end of the year.
